Dispatch Exposes The Unheathy Conditions During The Prerecording of MAMA 2020
It has already been more than a seek since Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) 2020 has finished, but it continues to be mired in controversy.
A day after MAMA 2020, the poor conditions of the event was revealed. Photographs of idol groups waiting in the parking lot and in their cars were seen all over media. It seems that Mnet did not provide any waiting room for the groups. But the actor presenters were given waiting rooms and even provided catering.
Mnet responded to the criticism and explained that all performances were already pre-recorded, and the artists simply had to wait to be called if it is their turn to receive the award. They went on to tell that construction had not been completed yet at the Pachu Contents World where MAMA 2020 took place, so there were not enough waiting rooms that can be provided for all the artists, especially as COVID restrictions were being implemented.
This time, Dispatch exposed that filming for the stages was also done in less than favorable conditions. The studio was very dusty, with some staff complaining that their masks had turned to black. And when the artists had to perform, they, of course, had to take off their masks, exposing them to the pollutants. The venue itself has only completed about 40% of its constructions, so you can see debris and construction signs all over the place.
Fans noted that this was in stark contrast to the recently held The Fact Music Awards 2020. Unlike Mnet, which held the event at a place with unfinished construction, this time, it was held at Paradise City Hotel. The venue boasts of five-star accommodations and services. All the artists were given amazing accommodation at the world-class facility. Some of the artists seen enjoying the perks of the place include rookie group ENHYPEN, MAMAMOO, and TWICE who all posted pictures of their rooms and other places inside the beautiful hotel.
