'Deus Ex: Mankind Divided' Release Date Postponed; Pre-Order Campaign Discontinued!
"Deus Ex: Mankind Divided" fans will have to wait for six more months, according to PC Gamer.
"Mankind Divided" is a part of the "Deus Ex" game franchise that was first developed by Ion Storm but was then taken over by Eidos Montreal and published by Square Enix. The new "Deus Ex" game title is a sequel to its recent predecessor, "Deus Ex: Human Revolution." The new game title is the continuation of the story of Adam Jensen, protagonist of "Human Revolution." "Mankind Divided" was initially announced that it was going to be released on Feb. 23, 2016.
Today, Eidos Montreal has announced that the game will be delayed for six more months prior to the first release date announcement. The new release date is now Aug. 23, 2016, according to IGN.
"As you may have already seen by reading and watching the many previews for Deus Ex: Mankind, our aim is for it to be a worthy successor to Human Revolution, and to improve upon that game in every way possible," said David Anfossi, Eidos Montreal's Head of Studio. "I know that expectations are extremely high, and we not only want to meet those expectations, but exceed them."
The studio has apologized to their fans for the delay and explained why, according to The Verge.
"We're confident and proud of the game so far," explained Anfossi. "However, as we are now playing through the game in full we can see that it will require more time in post-production for tuning, iterations, and refinement to meet our high standards."
"Deus Ex: Mankind Divided" release date is not the only thing that has been changed. Square Enix has also announced a while back that the pre-order scheme, "Augment your Pre-Order," that they released a few months ago will now be discontinued, according to Gamespot.
