Caitriona Balfe did it again. The Outlander star poked fun of her on-screen husband, Sam Heughan, in his 39th birthday on April 30. But as expected, the actor is delighted of his co-star's greeting.

Balfe shared on her Instagram account as a tribute to Heughan on his birthday a photo of the actor while he comfortably sits on a chair. The snap shows the actor as dazzling as ever while his right middle finger is slightly lifted.

"Happy Birthday @samheughan!!! To the man who can smize for miles ... May this be your best year yet!!! Oh and ... lots of ," she wrote in the caption. Heughan replied to Balfe's post by simply writing, "Hehe love you!!!"

The Irish actress-model also shared the same photo of the actor on her IG stories but only with some adornment. She added a party hat on the actor's head, a slice of cake on the tip of his middle finger, a sunflower on his suit pocket, a string of little flags on his neck, and some cat embellishment on his face.

Balfe and Heughan have been known for trolling each other on social media. It can be recalled that on the actress' 39th birthday in October last year, Heughan also posted on social media a funny photo of Balfe on the set location of Outlander.

The two have no problem making fun of each other. This shows that their on-screen chemistry goes on even the cameras stop rolling.

Balfe and Heughan are currently filming the fifth season of Outlander in Scotland. Heughan plays the role of Jamie Fraser while Balfe portrays Jamie's wife, time-traveler nurse Claire Fraser. The two have also started serving as producers of the show this season.

Meanwhile, co-star Sophie Skelton also posted on IG a photo of her and Heughan. The actress jokingly pretends to be in shock finding out that Heughan is not turning 21. She also called his on-screen dad an "awesome human." Skelton plays the role of Jamie and Claire's daughter, Brianna.

Aside from Balfe, Heughan, and Skelton, other cast members that are expected to return in Outlander Season 5 are Richard Rankin (Roger), Duncan Lacroix (Murtagh Fitzgibbons Fraser), Maria Doyle Kennedy (Aunt Jocasta), and César Domboy (Fergus). Outlander Season 5 is based on the fifth book in Diana Gabaldon's novel series, The Fiery Cross.

The upcoming installment is set to premiere in fall. Netflix has earlier announced that it will start streaming the Season 1 and 2 of the Starz fantasy drama series on May 27.
