'Outlander' Stars Sam Heughan & Caitriona Balfe Troll Each Other Over Their 2019 Oscar Outfit

Outlander lead stars Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe will never get tired of trolling each other on social media. The on-screen couple latest escapade is to mock each others' outfit during the recent 2019 Academy Awards.

Heughan and Balfe took a break from Outlander Season 5 filming and attended the Vanity Fair Oscars party. The two dressed glamorously for the occasion but also had a hilarious exchange of tweets about their respective wardrobe at the party.

At first, Heughan shared a photo of him in a brown velvet suit. He tagged the people who helped him prepare for the event and captioned the photo, "Bow Tie.. by me!!!!!" It called attention to his bowtie which is a bit lopsided. Balfe immediately commented on the photo.

"Hey... I need a guy to tie a bow tie... you know anyone??" she wrote.

Heughan playfully responded to Balfe's comment by making reference to the actress' dress. Balfe wore a metallic and plunging back gown by Dundas for the night.

"You looked wonderful! Though you do appear to have a hole in your dress hon??" Heughan wrote, referring to the heart cutouts on the actress' dress. See Heughan and Balfe's outfits below.

The exchange clearly shows how comfortable the two are in teasing each other. Heughan and Balfe often entertain their fans with their hilarious conversation on social media as well as some funny clip and photos on the set of the Starz time-traveled drama.

Earlier this month, Balfe also teased her co-star when Heughan shared a shirtless selfie of him, showing off his hot physique. The Money Monster actress pretended to be unimpressed of the actor's bulging muscles and asked Heughan if he was mug by someone.

"Hey, @SamHeughan looks like you've lost your clothes and your arm seems to be broken at an unfortunate angle .... are you okay? Need help?? Did someone mug you..??? (Oh and also ... your hat is the wrong way round ...) #SOSforSam," Balfe wrote in her response to the post of The Spy Who Dumped Me actor.

Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe are set to reprise their roles as Jamie and Claire Fraser, respectively, in the upcoming Outlander Season 5. The fifth season of the critically-acclaimed drama has started filming this month. It is expected to premiere in the fall.

Heughan earlier teased that Season 5 will be "tough" to the Fraser family. The actor confirmed that the main plot of the upcoming installment will revolve around the American Revolution and viewers will see more of Jamie's godfather, Murtagh (Duncan Lacroix). Outlander Season 5 will be based on Diana Gabaldon's fifth book, The Fiery Cross, and it will have 12 episodes.
