ISIL Releases Video Threatening Attack On Washington DC

ISIS released another propaganda video threatening to launch an attack on the capital of the United States, Washington D.C., according to the Independent.

In the video, the man praised the Paris attacks, saying it was just the beginning and threatened to attack the other countries involved in the bombing of their militant strongholds in Iraq and Syria.

"It's not just Europe," said CIA Director John Brennan. "I think we here in the United States need to be obviously quite vigilant."

Brennan said During his remarks at the Center for Strategic & International Studies Global Security Forum, that the attacks in Paris serves as a wake-up call for Americans, reported ABC News.

The video, released by Iraqi sub-group Wilayat Kirkuk, showed television footage of police operations in the wake of the bombings and shootings in Paris, Friday.

While body bags were being loaded into ambulances, the clip showed jihadists celebrating the massacres.

"We say to the states that take part in the crusader campaign that, by God, you will have a day God willing, like France's and by God, as we struck France in the centre of its abode in Paris, then we swear that we will strike America at its centre in Washington," an Algerian man said.

The Algerian was identified as Al Ghareeb, who also warned Europe that more attacks are to be expected. Ghareeb said that they will be coming to Europe with explosives, booby traps, and guns.

Al Ghareeb added that authorities are unable to stop Isis because they are much stronger than before.

Security is heightened across the United States. Police presence has been ramped up in the Capitol and Times Square. Also, more patrol officers have been added by the U.S. Park Police to protect treasured icons.

"The District of Columbia is always operating at a heightened level of security because of our locale," said a statement from Mayor Muriel Browser's Office.

"The Metropolitan Police Department is working with our federal partners to keep our city safe and we will deploy resources around the city as deemed necessary."
