Super Junior member Choi Siwon once again apologize on the controversial dog bite incident that killed a person two years ago. The singer-actor made the apology during the press conference of his new K-drama, My Fellow Citizens!.

The new KBS2 drama is Siwon's small screen comeback since the controversy involving his family dog. In October of 2017, a 53-year-old upscale restaurant owner, identified as Mrs. Kim, was bitten by a French bulldog owned by Siwon and his family. She passed away from sepsis six days later.

Mrs. Kim's sister stated afterward that Siwon had visited their family several times to apologize and they had forgiven the singer and his family. Although the Kim family had stated that they are not taking any legal action against the Choi family, Siwon's family received severe backlash from the public for not taking any precautionary measures with their dog. The controversy resulted in Siwon taking a hiatus.

He was last seen acting in Revolutionary Love in 2017. It was his first project after he got discharged from his mandatory military service.

During the press conference for My Fellow Citizens!, Siwon was asked about his thoughts for his comeback K-drama. The She Was Pretty actor admitted that the incident two years ago taught him a lot of things.

"I've realized that I have to be more careful and cautious when it comes to any past incidents and anything related to them, as well as anything connected to myself. I am sincerely sorry for causing so many people so much concern," he said as he bows in apology.

My Fellow Citizens! is a comedy crime drama about a highly skilled con man, Yang Jung Kook (Siwon), who is the third generation of a family of con artists. In order to earn money for his wedding, he gets involved with a loan shark. But he gets scammed by his girlfriend who runs off with their marriage funds.

Later on, Jung Kook met and marries a police officer, Kim Mi Young (Lee Yoo-Young). He also swept up in a series of unplanned incidents and somehow ends up running to become a member of the National Assembly.

My Fellow Citizens! also stars Kim Min Jung, Tae In Ho, Kim Eui Sung, and Im Ji Hyun. It airs every Mondays and Tuesdays at 10 p.m. on KBS.

Meanwhile, Siwon recently attended a state dinner at the Blue House between South Korean President Moon Jae In and King Philippe of Belgium. About 90 people from diverse groups have been invited in the event that aims to development of a strong relationship between the two countries.

Siwon took part in the event as UNICEF's special representative. The Super Junior member has been actively promoting UNICEF campaigns since 2010.
