The Vampire Diaries universe lives on. Actor Paul Wesley has directed one of the episodes of TVD spinoff, Legacies.

Wesley is back in Mystic Falls but this time around behind the camera. The actor has helmed Legacies Season 1 Episode 13, titled "The Boy Who Still Has a Lot of Good to Do." Although Wesley will not be seen on screen, having his name on the credits is enough for avid fans of TVD to go crazy.

Paul Wesley first talked about directing an episode for Legacies in late 2018. At the time, he also shut down rumors that he will reprise his TVD character in Legacies. Wesley famously played the role of one of the Salvatore brothers, Stefan, in the hit vampire romance TV series The Vampire Diaries.

Directing an episode for Legacies gives Wesley a chance to reunite with his Vampire Diaries friend Matt Davis, who played Alaric Saltzman on TVD and its spinoffs. Alaric is currently the headmaster of the Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted which also houses the Stefan Salvatore Memorial Library.

In Episode 13 of Legacies, MG (Quinn Fouse), Landon (Aria Shahghasemi), and Rafael (Peyton Alex Smith) will travel to visit former's parents. But their road trip turns into a disaster when MG and Landon went missing while Rafael has no memory of what happened to them. Hope (Danielle Rose Russell), Alaric (Matthew Davis) and Kaleb (Chris Lee) will hit the road to search for MG, Landon, and Rafael before it's too late.

This is not Wesley's first directorial debut though. The actor previously helmed five episodes of The Vampire Diaries and an episode for Shadowhunters. He also directed an episode of Roswell, New Mexico for The CW.

Legacies follows the life of Hope Mikaelson, the daughter of Klaus Mikaelson and Hayley Marshall. She descended from some of the most powerful vampire, werewolf, and witch bloodlines. The 17-year-old Hope attends the Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted which provides a haven to supernatural beings where they can learn to control their abilities and impulses. The series is also set in where The Vampire Diaries began: Mystic Falls.

Legacies airs every Thursday at 9 p.m. ET on The CW. The Wesley-directed episode will be aired on March 7.
