INFINITE Member L Confirmed To Play As Love Interest Of 'Thirty But Seventeen' Actress Shin Hye Sun In New K-Drama
INFINITE member L has been confirmed to lead star a new K-drama, titled One and Only Love, along with Thirty But Seventeen actress Shin Hye Sun. INFINITE's label, Woollim Entertainment, has announced that the K-pop idol will play a lead role in the Korean romance drama.
It was earlier confirmed that Shin has joined the cast of One and Only Love. She will play the role of a blind heiress.
One and Only Love is about the love story between an angel and a ballerina. Kim Myung Soo, also known by his stage name L, will play the role of an accident-prone but optimistic angel named Dan. Shin, on the other hand, will be portraying the role of Lee Yeon Seo, an heiress who is forced to give up her dream of becoming a dancer after losing her eyesight in an accident.
Dan has been given a task that in order for him to return to heaven, he must help Yeon Seo to find love. However, her cold-hearted personality makes Dan's task more difficult and he ends up falling in love himself.
One and Only Love is scheduled to air in May 2019 in KBS 2TV. The upcoming drama will be headed by Healer director Lee Jung Sub. The script will be written by Lucky Romance screenwriter Choi Yoon Kyo.
L was last seen in JTBC legal drama Ms. Hammurabi this year. He played the role of a judge and his performance was well-received by both viewers and critics. The series also gave him a nomination for Best New Actor at the 6th APAN Star Awards.
"I received a lot of compliments for my recent TV drama work, but in my eyes, I have a lot to improve on. To explain it in a gaming way, I think 'L' is at a level to some degree but Kim Myung-soo as an actor has only just finished the game tutorial," L said in the previous interview with fashion magazine Singles (via Inquirer.net).
The 26-year-old singer made his acting debut in 2011 Japanese drama Jiu Keishicho Tokushuhan Sousagakari before he was cast in tvN's romantic comedy series Shut Up Flower Boy Band. He portrayed a guitarist of a rock group in the series.
L had his first lead role in the drama special The Day After We Broke Up in 2016. The following year, he also played a role in MBC's historical drama The Emperor: Owner of the Mask.
