British royalties Prince Harry and wife, Meghan Markle, will not be witnessing the nuptial of Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas at the Taj Umaid Bhawan Palace in India this weekend. Kensington Palace did not issue a comment about Harry and Meghan skipping the wedding but it was presumed that it could be due to the latter's pregnancy.

The 37-year-old actress is currently pregnant with her first child with Prince Harry. It was also earlier announced that Harry and Meghan are moving out of Kensington Palace. The couple is set to start their growing family to Windsor Castle's Frogmore Cottage, which was gifted to them by Queen Elizabeth II.

Reports indicated that travel concerns due to Meghan's pregnancy could be the main reason for her absence in her friend's wedding. Moreover, Us Weekly reported that security concerns for the royal couple may be another reason for not attending the Chopra-Jonas wedding. The soon-to-be-wed couple also reportedly changed the venue of their pre-wedding events due to security issues.

"Meghan isn't trying to travel as much as she is pregnant. But Priyanka and Nick are extremely happy because their closest friends and family are in India to celebrate their marriage," a source shared with Entertainment Tonight.

The nuptial of Chopra and Jonas is not the only one Meghan had skipped. She also failed to attend the wedding of another friend, Serena Williams, to Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian in November 2017. Most likely, it was because Meghan is about to announced her engagement to Harry around the same time.

Priyanka Chopra is a known close friend of Meghan Markle. The Quantico actress even attended the royal wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in May at St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle in England. When the engagement rumors of Chopra and Jonas started in July, it was reported that the Suits alum has given her approval to the couple's relationship and expressed her excitement for the two.

Us Weekly also reported that Meghan and Harry and Chopra and Jonas also had a double date at the royal couple's home in Oxfordshire, England. Apparently, it was the same week the "Jealous" singer proposed to his beauty queen girlfriend.

Meanwhile, Jonas and Chopra are already in Mumbai in India and they are expected to exchange vows in the traditional Indian wedding and Christian services. The 36-year-old actress and Jonas have been sharing their photos on Instagram, same as Jonas' older brother, Joe, and his fiancée, Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner. This suggests that the couple's prenuptial celebrations, including the traditional Puja which is a Hindu pre-marriage ritual, have already begun.
