'NCIS: Los Angeles' Fans Anxious About Deeks' Future; Kensi Might Have New Partner In Season 10
As the cameras began rolling at the set of NCIS: Los Angeles Season 10, the cast members also started teasing what fans might expect in the upcoming installment. But some fans were not pleased with what the cast members' photos have suggested.
NCIS: Los Angeles Season 9 ended in a dire situation for the four agents of the NCIS LA office. The lives of Agents G. Callen (Chris O'Donnell), Sam Hanna (LL Cool J), Kensi Blye (Daniela Ruah), and LAPD Detective Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) are in great danger after their SUV was blown up by a missile. Since the season finale, fans have been speculating who might not survive the blast.
Ruah and LL Cool J shared some photos from the set, which means they are definitely in Season 10, but what caught the attention of many fans is Olsen's latest Instagram post. "Some of us are back at work. Some of us are here," he wrote along with a snap of him that suggests that he is still on vacation.
Many fans expressed concern that the actor might not return this season. However, some still believe that Deeks is alive and Ruah might have filmed some scenes without her onscreen fiancé. Others said if Deeks dies in Episode 1, Olsen still needs to return for the final scenes of his character.
Ruah's photo with Max Martini further fueled the theory that Deeks will die in the first episode of Season 10. The actor also shared a post on Instagram which assured that Kensi is definitely alive when NCIS LA returns. Martini will return in Season 10 and will appear in at least two episodes.
"Hanging out on the set of #ncisla 2nd episode. Worked yesterday with a terrific actress and new pal @danielaruah," he wrote in a post on Instagram.
In Ruah's photo on set with Martini, she did not mention that it was from Episode 2, but the actress did mention that it was "Day 1" on NCIS LA filming. This sparks speculation that Martini's character, named Arlo Turk, could be Kensi's new partner after Deeks dies. "I'm always open to learning new skills. Bonding on day 1 of #ncisla #seasonX," Ruah wrote.
Arlo as Kensi's new partner is not entirely unlikely since the former already appeared in the Season 9 finale. He was Hetty's (Linda Hunt) asset in Mexico whom the team met when they arrived in the country. Arlo also helped the team in their mission to rescue Mosley's (Nia Long) son.
Meanwhile, NCIS LA followers have known that O'Donnell is not a frequent user of social media sites, so it is not expected that he will share his first day on set photo online. However, it is safe to say that O'Donnell will not be killed off in the series. NCIS: Los Angeles Season 10 will premiere on September 30 at 9:30/8:30c. It will later move to its regular timeslot of 9/8c on Sundays.
