BIGBANG frontman G-Dragon recently stirred up a controversy regarding him receiving special treatment while serving his mandatory military enlistment. The YG Entertainment artist had another trip to the hospital for ankle surgery. While fans were worried about the K-pop idol’s condition, one netizen felt that he was just being a “drama queen.”

Known for his extravagant lifestyle as a K-pop superstar, one netizen commented that the 29-year-old South Korean rapper, singer-songwriter, record producer, entrepreneur, and fashion icon “is a Drama queen” and “does everything to get attention.” However, this doesn’t appear to be the case.

YG Entertainment had already reiterated a couple of times that G-Dragon “expressed pain due to a dislocated shoulder and spraining his ankle” even before he enlisted and that “his condition worsened further during military training.” The BIGBANG star had been in the entertainment world since he was just a little kid, so it seems that his explosive performances finally caught up to him.

In fact, a BIGBANG’s documentary showed G-Dragon passing out from exhaustion during their tours. Although he was professional enough to pick himself up and continue to finish the concert, his health clearly suffered as he would normally lose a lot of weight during his solo and his band’s big events.

Despite his weak condition, G-Dragon was left with no choice but to try to bring his healthy self back to be in a better condition to complete his compulsory duty. Fans were relieved when photos emerged online of the BIGBANG star looking like he put on some weight during the military. Unfortunately, the promising snaps were followed up with the singer’s trips to the hospital.

Although four out of the five members of BIGBANG are currently completing their mandatory military service, fans are most concerned about G-Dragon. In fact, even the group’s remaining member who has yet to enlist, Seungri, also feels the same way.

Seungri previously revealed that he is most worried about G-Dragon. But then he reassured the fans at the time that they have nothing to worry about because GD is “also doing very well. He has also healthily put on some weight."
