BIGBANG’s G-Dragon’s hospitalization became a headline recently, not because of the concerns for the K-pop idol’s health, but because he was accused of receiving special treatment while completing his mandatory military service. Now, a new report revealed that the YG Entertainment star was forced out of the hospital while being rehabilitated for his ankle surgery.

A local media outlet had previously reported that the 29-year-old South Korean rapper, singer-songwriter, record producer, entrepreneur, and fashion icon has been hospitalized since June 19 in an Army Hospital in Yangju, Gyeonggi Province, due to suffering from ankle pain. This will be the fourth time that G-Dragon has visited the hospital since he began his military enlistment.

G-Dragon was granted a 10-day sick leave twice. Meaning, the BIGBANG frontman had spent 20 days at the hospital after he received his batch placement on April 5.

Now, an exclusive report from Osen claims that G-Dragon was forced out of the Yangzhou Armed Forces Hospital and moved back to the Cheolwon Division Medical Center. This move was quite shocking as it was done without the BIGBANG star or his guardian’s consent.

The reason behind G-Dragon’s removal from Yangzhou Armed Forces Hospital is still unknown. YG Entertainment released a statement regarding what just happened, and the label is confused with the BIGBANG frontman’s transfer as well.

“We are in contact with his family to confirm the news about G-Dragon being forced to leave the Yangzhou Armed Forces Hospital,” YG Entertainment said. “Currently G-Dragon is a soldier, so we don’t know specific details.”

The company had already denied all the special treatment allegations after the news broke, saying, “Checking with his family, the report is very malicious and not true. There was no special treatment, there is no room for colonels at the hospital, and he was hospitalized following the normal procedure.”

YG Entertainment previously released a lengthy statement regarding G-Dragon’s alleged special treatment. The label noted that the BIGBANG singer already “expressed pain due to a dislocated shoulder and spraining his ankle” even before he enlisted and that “his condition worsened further during military training.”
