Song Ji Hyo In Tears After Sporting Challenge, 'Running Man' Members Face Extreme Weather Conditions
The latest episode of Running Man gave avid fans another chance to witness Song Ji Hyo's bravery during extreme situations. Faced with a sporting challenge that allowed her to enjoy the majestic view of Switzerland's snow-capped mountains, the actress became teary-eyed after the said activity.
Running Man has been known to feature challenges and missions that tested the courage and determination of its members. Previous episodes of the SBS variety show had Haha and Yang Se Chan conquer their fears in the high-altitude ride Nevis Swing. Recently, Song Ji Hyo showcased her bravery as she paraglided from a mountaintop to get a better view of Switzerland's famous landmarks.
Joined by Kim Jong Kook and Kang Ha Na, the Emergency Couple actress was excited at the prospect of seeing a better view of the Swiss Alps. However, she became nervous while waiting for her turn to jump from the mountain. Featured in Running Man Episode 539, Song Ji Hyo even became teary-eyed during the short flight as she gazed at her surroundings.
The experience also raised Song Ji Hyo's excitement in having participated in the said extreme sporting event. With her eyes still watery from unshed tears, the Lovely Horribly star immediately approached Kim Jong Kook and Kang Ha Na upon landing to get feedback about their paragliding experience. Kang Ha Na even commented on how Song Ji Hyo transformed into a hyper woman after completing the said activity.
Song Ji Hyo, Kim Jong Kook, Kang Ha Na, Hong Jin Young, Haha and Yang Se Chan traveled to Switzerland as a reward for having won a series of challenges in Running Man. Dubbed the "Family Package" missions, the said cast members and special guests were chosen to enjoy a luxury tour in the said European country.
However, the lavish trip turned into a nightmare when extreme weather conditions threatened to ruin the Running Man team's luxury tour. Yang Se Chan and Haha even found themselves stranded on top of the Alps after the weather turned from being calm to rainy with occasional lightning strikes. The duo was eventually rescued by a helicopter team and reunited with Song Ji Hyo, Kim Jong Kook, and other members.
Meanwhile, Song Ji Hyo will soon have to juggle filming activities for Running Man and a new drama. The Emergency Couple star will return to the small screens in the upcoming series Lovely Horribly. Portraying the lead role Si Hoo, the actress' character was described as an unlucky screenwriter whose plots sometimes happen in real life.
Lovely Horribly will premiere in August on KBS. Avid fans can also see more of Song Ji Hyo in Running Man which airs every Sunday on SBS.
