Steven Universe season 5 spoilers reveal that a long-kept secret challenges the once tight friendship of the Crystal Gems. Will we see the Gems fuse together again?

Due out on July, the trailer for the "Heart of the Crystal Gems" arc shows the consequences after the series' unexpected turnout. Fans have speculated for quite a while now that there will definitely be a dramatic twist, which turned out to be Steven's discovery.

Using Pearl's gem, Steven embarks on a journey to her darkest memories and discovers that his mother, Rose Quartz, didn't destroy Pink Diamond—she was Pink Diamond. While this clearly surprised Steven, Pearl, the only Crystal Gem who knew the truth, gets a shocking reaction from Sapphire and Ruby.

The End of Garnet?

The secret ignites insecurities among the group, particularly in Sapphire and Ruby's relationship. As Ruby tries to calm Sapphire down, Sapphire storms out of the room using the warp pad.

In Season 1's "Jailbreak and Season 2's "Keystone Motel," fans had seen Garnet split up before, which resulted to a quite an unbalanced Crystal Gems. Generally, Sapphire and Ruby splitting up don't bring the group any good, but it's a good thing they patch things up quickly. Fans are asking now, however, if it's for real this time.

Will Steven Save the Crystal Gems?

It seems the task of bringing the Crystal Gems back together will be Steven's job. The rife between Sapphire and Ruby looks serious this time, so the question now is, will Steven succeed in his mission?

Steven Universe returns on Cartoon Network on July 2 at 7:30 p.m. ET/PT. It will be a five-night event, which means fans will be able to watch new episodes every day until July 6.

More great news for fans, the upcoming arc will feature two new songs. The first one will be aired on July 4 and the second on July 6. Both songs will be available on streaming platforms including iTunes.
