It looks like legal dramas are the trend in Korean TV today and among the upcoming courtroom drama, this year is Dear Judge. What is interesting in the series is that lead star Yoon Shi Yoon will be playing two different characters.

Yoon, along with other cast members, Lee Yoo Young, Park Byung Eun, Hello Venus member Nara, and others recently gathered for the script reading of the new SBS show. Yoon will portray the role of two completely different characters -- identical twins Han Kang Ho and Han Su Ho.

Dear Judge has an interesting storyline. Although the Han brothers share the same genes and both have exceptional intelligence, they don't have the same personality and also have totally different lives.

Han Soo-Ho is an unconventional judge. He is guided by morals and principles and he handed out verdicts in unexpected ways. Han Kang-Ho, on the other hand, is the brother's opposite. Kang-Ho has a long history of run-ins with the law. His criminal record contains six different arrests.

The twins' path will cross again when Soo-Ho mysteriously disappears and Kang-Ho secretly takes his brother's place in the courtroom. Kang-Ho will turn into "dear Judge" and will be highly respected as a public official who upholds the law.

During the script reading, Yoon's co-stars and the series' showrunners were impressed of his ability to effectively switch between the two roles. This is what viewers will have to watch out for when the K-drama premieres next month.

Yoon earlier said his experience at KBS's hit reality show 2 Days & 1 Night helped him become a better actor. The Grand Prince actor said he felt pressure on the show because he is not portraying any role but himself.

"I don't think that an actor is guaranteed to receive love by only showing [the public] his cool side. Your true self shows through in your acting and influences your roles, and I think when that becomes natural [for me], that's when I've truly been acknowledged as a good actor," the actor said (via Soompi).

Meanwhile, Lee Yoo Young will be playing the role of a hard-working legal student Song So Eun in Dear Judge. Park Byung Eun's character is the bad guy in the series. He will play the role of Oh Sang Chul, a man who will everything to get what he wants. Nara, on the other hand, will portray the role of a chic but cold anchorwoman.

Dear Judge was penned by The Package screenwriter Chun Sung Il. It will be helmed by The Heirs producing director Boo Sung Chul. Dead Judge will be taking the10 p.m. Wednesday-Thursday time slot of SBS starting on July 25.
