Black Pink's 'Forever Young' Was Recorded Before 2NE1's Disbandment, Was It Meant For CL, Bom, Dara & Minzy? [WATCH]
Black Pink’s “Forever Young” may not have a music video but Jisoo, Jennie, Rose, and Lisa have performed the song during their live guesting and even released a dance practice video. However, a fan revealed that the song was already recorded back in 2015 when 2NE1 was still an active group. Could it be that “Forever Young” was meant to be released by CL, Bom, Dara, and Minzy?
Many believed that after 2NE1 disbanded in 2016, Black Pink took over their place as the queen of YG Entertainment. In fact, Jisoo, Jennie, Rose, and Lisa’s songs have a distinct sound that reminded fans so much of CL, Bom, Dara, and Minzy’s type of music.
So when a fan passed by YG Entertainment’s building in 2015 and heard a new song, she first thought it was 2NE1 who was singing. Black Pink’s “Forever Young” was clearly heard in the video, but Jisoo, Jennie, Rose, and Lisa were just unknown trainees at the time so the fan understandably didn’t know who they were.
But hearing a familiar beat, the fan first thought that it could be 2NE1’s upcoming song. But then she started to doubt herself as she realized that the voices were different from CL, Bom, Dara, and Minzy’s. It was actually Rosé and Lisa’s singing their lines from the first verse.
“We were just going though YG entertainment building, and I was like ‘which song is it??’ ‘2NE1?’ “ the fan captioned the clip. “ ‘Noo, [those] voices are different” and idk who are they, but I DO like this song!’ ”

The video was dated November 15, 2015, but it recently emerged online after Black Pink’s “Forever Young” was unveiled as a part of their first mini-album SQUARE UP. Although many were shocked that the song was released so late, recording songs before a band’s debut has already been a normal routine in the K-pop world. In fact, some bands have already disbanded, and their pre-debut songs were not even released to the public.
