Jo Min Ki was accused of assaulting at least eight people. Most of his victims were drama students at a provincial university since he was also an assistant professor aside from being an actor. Now, reports revealed that the Flames Of Desire star’s apparent suicide back in March resulted in a dramatic turn of events.

Despite being the victims of Jo Min Ki’s sexual harassment, they are now receiving death threats after the actor’s passing. As if that’s not enough, the school refused to take action to help the victims.

"After it was reported that Jo Min Ki died, the victims have become targets for unfiltered criticism and hate. They are receiving messages such as 'Careful when you walk at night,' or 'I'll kill you,’ ” A member of Cheongju University's Alumni Association to Oppose Sexual Assault said at the Women's Human Rights Institute of Korea's After Forum. "We asked Cheongju University to launch a full investigation, but they aren't doing anything, citing the psychological stability of the students and professors, and internal reasons."

The recent update resulted in a lot of anger not only toward Jo Min Ki’s sexual harassment but also for those who were threatening the victims. Netizens also showed their disappointment with the school for their lack of action.

It was previously reported that Jo Min Ki had lost his professorship following the scandal. The high-profile accusations of sexual misconduct from numerous students, losing his job, and the embarrassment over the controversy was too much for the East of Eden star to handle. The 52-year-old South Korean actor was found dead at an underground parking lot in Seoul. His cause of death was classified as “suicide by hanging.”

Jo Min Ki’s death shocked the Korean entertainment world. The Love and Ambition actor’s conversation with a reporter just three hours before his death was then revealed.

In the audio recording, Jo Min Ki was heard saying, "The police told me to come in for questioning on March 6. But I delayed the date to March 12 because that day was my daughter’s college entrance ceremony.” The actor then said that he was extremely apologetic towards the victims, and his own family.
