'Outlander' Season 4 News & Update: Fans Disappointed That Sam Heughan Will Not Attend 'Outlander' Las Vegas Con
Fans have expressed disappointment that Sam Heughan is skipping the very first Outlander Las Vegas Con. Meanwhile, Starz has confirmed the new additions in the cast of Outlander Season 4.
Event organizer Creation Entertainment confirmed that Heughan will not attend the first ever Outlander Las Vegas Con in July. Both Heughan (Jaime Fraser) and Caitriona Balfe (Claire Randall-Fraser) were originally scheduled to attend the convention, but Heughan has to beg off.
In a statement, Creation Entertainment did not state the reason why the actor needs to bail out of the event. Some speculate that there could be a conflict in Heughan's schedule for the promotion of his upcoming film The Spy Who Dumped Me alongside Mila Kunis and Kate McKinnon. The flick is set to premiere in August.
Many fans took to social media to express their disappointment of the latest development. Many, who already bought a ticket for the convention, are hoping to finally meet the Scottish actor.
"Really upset about this right now been pulling extra hours at work to go and he's the main reason I was going. Not so sure about that anymore," a fan said on Twitter.
Creation Entertainment said they are already processing the refund for those who pre-ordered Heughan's autographs and for those who already paid for the photo ops with the actor. The organizer also assured fans that they are looking for Heughan's replacement to complete the line-up, and they will announce the new guests soon.
So far, the Outlander cast members that are confirmed to attend the event are Balfe, Graham McTavish (Dougal MacKenzie), Sophie Skelton (Brianna Randall), and Richard Rankin (Roger Wakefield). Stephen Walters (Anger Mhor), Andrew Gower (Prince Charles Edward Stuart), and Lotte Verbeek (Geillis Duncan) will also meet their fans in Outlander Las Vegas Con.
Heughan is still confirmed to attend the Land Con 2 on June 30 and July 1 and the Salute to Outlander New Jersey and Wizard World Chicago which are both scheduled in August. As for the San Deigo Comic-Con 2018, there is still no final word if Heughan will be in the event.
Meanwhile, Outlander Season 4 will welcome new characters in November. According to Entertainment Weekly, there will be five new additions to the time-travel drama series.
