'NCIS' Season 15: Former Lead Star Cote De Pablo Hints At Michael Weatherly Being Unhappy With Ziva & Tony's Exit
It has been years but some fans are still hoping to see more of Cote de Pablo in NCIS. After all, the Chilean actress left a lasting mark as Ziva David in the CBS series. Although there is probably no chance that de Pablo will make an appearance in NCIS Season 15, the former lead star still looks back fondly at the show she left behind. But is it possible that the star of The 33 knows how Michael Weatherly truly feels about Tony DiNozzo's fate? Did de Pablo and Weatherly decide to exit the action police drama because of the same person who caused Pauley Perrette to leave?
Fans were undoubtedly disappointed when Pauley Perrette announced her departure from NCIS Season 15. However, the actress who portrayed Abby Sciuto has since revealed that she decided to leave the show because someone had been assaulting her repeatedly and was trying to keep her quiet. Not surprisingly, there were speculations that the same person may have been responsible for Cote de Pablo and Michael Weatherly's exit. De Pablo may have even hinted at Weatherly's disappointment with how his departure was handled by the CBS series.
Cote de Pablo recently conducted a Masterclass at the Riviera International Film Festival where she opened up about her experience with NCIS. According to CarterMatt, the show's former lead actress also discussed Michael Weatherly's departure, which possibly was not what the Bull actor was hoping for for his character Tony DiNozzo.
"I think with Michael’s exit, he did the best with what they gave him," Cote de Pablo said. This immediately led to speculations that Michael Weatherly was not expecting the series to introduce Tony's daughter with Ziva David and make her an important part of the character's decision to leave NCIS. Nevertheless, de Pablo has great things to say about how Tony's storyline was closed out.
"I think it was actually quite beautiful that this child that he didn’t know he had comes to reunite with her father," Cote de Pablo said about the scene before adding that she believes "that’s nice." Unfortunately, there is still no word on whether Michael Weatherly will be returning anytime soon after NCIS Season 15.
But is Cote de Pablo open to reprising her role as Ziva David after NCIS Season 15? The actress was asked about the possibility of Ziva still being alive and perhaps coming back for a reunion with Michael Weatherly. Interestingly, de Pablo thought it was funny that fans still believed it could happen but admitted that "it would have been great to see those characters reunite." In the meantime, NCIS Season 15 airs on CBS every Tuesday nights.
