'NCIS' Season 15: Former Lead Star Cote De Pablo Open To Possible Ziva/Tony Reunion, Calls Michael Weatherly's Exit 'Quite Beautiful'

There is little doubt that fans are still reeling over Pauley Perrette's depressing departure in NCIS Season 15 Episode 22, but Abby Sciuto's heartbreaking exit is hardly the first one that people had to deal with. After all, some are still having trouble accepting Ziva David's death to the point that they believe Cote de Pablo could return to the CBS series. Interestingly, de Pablo has spoken up about the possibility that Ziva is still alive and might soon reunite with Michael Weatherly's Tony DiNozzo in the future.

It certainly has been a long time since Cote de Pablo left NCIS in the Season 11 episode "Past, Present and Future." However, Ziva David was still a huge part of Tony DiNozzo's storyline up until Michael Weatherly's departure in the 13th season. With Tony still alive and taking care of their daughter Tali, what are the chances that Ziva has survived and could be set for a comeback? De Pablo has admitted that although she thinks the idea is "very funny," she is open to exploring the possibility of her return in the series.

According to CarterMatt, Cote de Pablo recently gave a lecture at the Riviera International Film Festival for the Masterclass “For The Love of Acting: The Business and the Heart.” Naturally, attendees were eager to ask the former NCIS star if she has considered returning to the CBS show since Ziva David's death was not shown in the series.

"For me, it’s very funny, it’s like no body, no crime," de Pablo said before adding that it "would have been great to see those characters reunite and see each other one more time." She also pointed out that this could only happen "in a different world" yet confessed that "it would have been interesting" to see if Ziva and David are given a proper reunion on NCIS.

It is still unclear whether NCIS would be bringing Cote de Pablo back to reprise her role as Ziva David, but the actor seems satisfied with how the show handled Michael Weatherly's departure. "I think it was actually quite beautiful that this child that he didn’t know he had comes to reunite with her father," de Pablo said before saying she believes "that’s nice."

There is no word yet on whether Cote de Pablo or Michael Weatherly will return to the show. In the meantime, NCIS Season 15 Episode 23 will be the first episode after Pauley Perrette's exit and will air on CBS on May 15.
