'One Piece' News & Update: New Skypeia Arc, 'Episode of Sorajima,' To Feature Luffy And Enel's Grand Final Battle

One Piece will be getting a new anime special based on one of its most popular storylines, the Skypiea Arc. This will be called "Episode of Sorajima," and fans are about to see a new additional character that viewers have never seen in the original version.

According to OP Fanpage, the Skypeia Arc is One Piece's number 13 story arc. It is also the Sky Island Saga's second and last of two story arc. Here, the Straw Hats will arrive on the Sky Island Skypeia to look for gold. However, they will soon find out that the island is in great danger in the hands of the cruel god Enel who wants to destroy the place.

This will be the first time the Skypeia Arc is going to be a part of One Piece's anime specials. This new feature is going to update the Straw Hats' "pre-time skip designs" and give it a full makeover, per Comicbook. And as Luffy and Enel's final battle is going to be featured here, fans can expect a fresh take of the fight's presentation.

Additionally, Otakukart reported that "Skypeia is one of the longest arcs in One Piece history." Hence, the anime's fans are now excited to see how Toei Animation is going to adapt it. As of this writing, it hasn't been revealed who the staff members that are going to work on it will be. But, it is believed that it will have the same crew that will be led by the character designer, Kazuya Hisada.

It is also possible that Masayuki Sato will be working on One Piece's Skypeia Arc as he is also the anime film's designer. Others who are expected to be part of this special anime series are the top animators Yoichi Mitsui, Yoshikazu Tomita, Ryo Onoshi, Naotishi Shida, and a lot more. If this happens, fans will definitely be up to see what they are craving to watch.

In fact, this has been proven by the One Piece's Skypeia Arc's new trailer. The video teaser just showed huge character makeovers. However, these new character designs also have the same quality of that the current anime series. Also, the "Episode of Sorajima" action scenes are now improved and have the same "slicker action animation" as what fans see today.

One Piece's Skypeia Arc, "Episode of Sorajima," is directed by Konosuke Uda. It is set to be released on August 25 on Fuji TV.
