It looks like an American rapper has been caught taking credit for music that has allegedly been stolen from WINNER. 6IX9INE is currently in the hot seat for using the instrumental of "Island" in a new song titled "Nobody (Closer)." But did the musician intentionally use the WINNER single without permission from Yoon, Jinu, Hoony, and Mino? Fans of the boy group are defending the idols and pushing 6IX9INE to delete the video from his YouTube channel.

According to AllKpop, 6IN9INE recently posted a new video on his official YouTube channel. The song "Nobody (Closer)" was set to be the rapper's possible new release in preparation for summer and has already earned over 178,000 views and more than 5,600 likes. However, the video also caught the attention of WINNER fans who couldn't help but notice that it sounded a lot like the boy group's single "Island" which was released in 2017.

It didn't take long before WINNER supporters started commenting on the video and calling 6IX9INE out on plagiarism. One comment sarcastically wrote that they "love Island's new remix," while others tried to bring the focus back on WINNER as the original artists. The general consensus is that everyone wants the rapper, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, to take down the video since he has blatantly plagiarized "Island." Unfortunately, 6IX9INE has kept the video up and seems to be enjoying the controversy.

WINNER and their fans are not the only ones upset with 6IX9INE at the moment. Before people started hating on the rapper for allegedly plagiarizing "Island," the New York artist has been threatened by fellow rapper Trippie Redd. Hot New Hip Hop recently reported that Trippie has promised to "catch blood" from 6IX9INE even if it is "the last thing I do on Earth." Trippie went as far as swearing on Oprah Winfrey's grave that he would beat 6IX9INE. It looks like supporters of Jinu, Yoon, Hoony, and Mino will need to get in line.

They might be getting plenty of support from their fans now, but WINNER has also dealt with other controversies in the past week. It was recently reported that Mino, Yoon, Hoony, and Jinu made lewd comments about students' underwear at a college music festival.
