"Dragon Quest 7" and "Dragon Quest 8" will be coming to the west for the Nintendo 3DS handheld console, according to IGN.

"Dragon Quest 7: Fragments of the Forgotten Past" was first released for the PlayStation 1 in 2001. The game was praised for its gameplay, quests and variety for a Japanese Role Playing Game or JRPG.

"Dragon Quest 8: The Journey of the Cursed King" was first released for PlayStation 2 in 2004 in Japan and was later released in North America in 2005. It was ported to Android and iOS and was launched in Japan on December 2013 and worldwide on May 2014.

There were rumors at first that this game will be coming to the west, but Square Enix did not want to confirm it yet, according to Techno Buffalo. Creator Yuji Horii let this news slip way back at the Japan Expo last July. Later he said that the company is thinking about it. There were also rumors that the ports will only be for Japanese gamers and will not leave the country.

This announcement of a western release for both games will finally prove the rumors of the game only for Japan to be false, according to Games Radar. Many fans of both games have been waiting for an English version of "DQ7" for two years now.

"Dragon Quest 7" will be launching on the Nintendo 3DS and it will be translated in English. This was confirmed during the Nintendo Direct presentation, according to VG247. It will launch sometime in early 2016 so no specific dates as of yet.

"Dragon Quest 8" will be launched within next year, but there are no other details for a specific season or date, according to Attack of the Fanboy.
