‘Frozen 2’ Spoilers, Theories & Updates: Elsa Might Finally Reveal She’s Different From All Other Disney Princesses
Frozen has definitely changed a lot of perceptions about the usual princess movies that everyone watched during their younger years. The mega-hit 2013 3D computer-animated musical fantasy film has brilliantly noted that a fairytale is more than just a true love’s kiss. Now, it appears that Frozen 2 will also break more rules and will reveal that Queen Elsa is completely different from all the other Disney princesses.
Just a quick recap, the sisters had experienced a major heartbreak when their parents passed away in a terrible accident. Despite their close relationship when they were young, Elsa and Anna eventually grew apart when the former couldn’t control her powers and feared that she would hurt her younger sister again like she did when they were small.
In the end, Elsa did hurt Anna, and while a true love’s kiss has always been the answer to every princess problems, Frozen proved that it’s definitely not the case. In fact, it was a sister’s love that saved everything.
The story of Queen Elsa and Princess Anna has certainly touched a lot of hearts. The unusual ending reminded everyone that a Disney princess doesn’t necessarily need a prince charming to save her from danger.
With this in mind, many suggested that Elsa should get herself a girlfriend instead. While this may sound controversial for conservative Disney fans, the co-director, and writer of the Frozen 2, Jennifer Lee, actually said that she is open to the idea.
Huffington Post previously caught up with Jennifer Lee and asked for her opinion about the ongoing petition of giving Queen Elsa a girlfriend in Frozen 2. She revealed that she loved the fact that Elsa is “creating dialogue.” Lee then said that they “have tons of conversations about it, and we’re really conscientious about these things.”
If Elsa will indeed introduce her girlfriend in Frozen 2, it is not going to be the first time that Disney tried to cleverly add a pro-LGBT scene in their movies. In fact, a Finding Dory scene appears to have featured a lesbian couple in it, and LeFou was caught dancing with another man in 2017′s Beauty and the Beast.
