Song Joong Ki, Song Hye Kyo 2018: 'Descendants Of The Sun' Stars Join 'Power Celebrity 40' List, Defeated By BTS, Wanna One, TWICE, EXO, UI

There is no denying that Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo remain as two of the most followed celebrities in South Korea despite the fact that they have been away from the limelight for quite some time now. The Descendants of the Sun stars have decided to take a break from the entertainment industry since they tied the knot on Oct. 31, 2017. Despite this, the Song-Song couple was still able to reach new milestones in their respective careers.

As a matter of fact, Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo have been included in 2018 Korea Power Celebrity 40 list. Manila Bulletin shared that the Descendants of the Sun stars were able to nab sixth and seventh spots. The Philippine-based news outlet also revealed that the Song-Song couple ranked second in terms of earnings among the 40 personalities listed.

Aside from Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo, other stars who were made it to the list include BTS at No. 1, Wanna One at No. 2, TWICE at No. 3, EXO at No. 4 and IU at No. 5. Park Bo Gum, Kim Yuna, and Ryu Hyun Jin completed the Top 10. Other names on the list include Red Velvet, Suzy Bae, AOA, Taeyeon, Jung Woo-sung, Lee Hyori and Big Bang's G-Dragon.

Korea Portal previously reported that Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo were also included in the Most Popular Korean Celebrities list released by Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Korea International Cultural Promotion Agency. The Descendants of the Sun stars got the third and fourth spots, following "Gangnam Style" hitmaker PSY and Legend of the Blue Sea star Lee Min Ho. BTS and Park Shin Hye ranked fifth and sixth, respectively.

Meanwhile, Primadonna shared that Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo are currently living with the actor's parents in Daejeon. The reliable entertainment and culture news outlet shared that this is a part of the Korean tradition. It was previously claimed that the Descendants of the Sun actor is already in talks for his upcoming new project titled Asadal.
