A new survey proved that Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo remains to be among the most popular South Korean personalities even after they decided to stay away from the limelight temporarily.

There is no denying that Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo are among the most followed couples in South Korea today. The pair made waves both on-screen and off-screen when they appeared on the 2016 series titled Descendants of the Sun The Song-Song couple decided to stay away from the limelight temporarily since they tied the knot on Oct. 31, 2018.

Primadonna previously reported that Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo are currently staying at the Descendants of the Sun actor's hometown while they take a break from showbiz. The entertainment news outlet shared that the Song-Song couple is living with the actor's parents in Daejeon.It was claimed that this is part of a South Korean tradition.

Despite being away from the spotlight, Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo continue to make it to the headlines. As a matter of fact, HelloKpop recently reported that the Descendants of the Sun lead stars were able to retain their spots in the latest survey conducted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Korea International Cultural Promotion Agency. The publication claimed that the agency surveyed a total of 7,800 Koreans from several parts of the world.

Administered in Asia, Europe and Americas, the survey took place on Oct. 13 to Nov. 13, 2017. It was reported that ''Gangnam Style'' singer PSY remains the most popular South Korean personality at present time. City Hunter actor Lee Min Ho, then, followed and took the second spot -- beating both Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo, who ranked third and fourth, respectively.

Following Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo is the popular K-pop group BTS. The Heirs actress Park Shin Hye took home the sixth spot while Train to Busan lead star Gong Yoo ranked eighth. Suzy Bae and G-Dragon tied in the ninth place.
