Amidst the controversy, House of Cards Season 6 will continue and fans are about to see a new commander-in-chief. A trailer for the Netflix's web series has been dropped during the telecast of the Oscars 2018 on Sunday, March 4.

Claire Underwood (Robin Wright) is definitely ready for duty for the final bow of House of Cards Season 6. Fans are about to see the 47th and current President of the United States of the political drama taking the screen with the resignation of her husband, Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey).

In the trailer, her staffs are rounding the White House corridors, the next scene revealed President Claire inside the Oval office. She is sitting on her chair when she turns it, stands up, put her hands on her desk, and declared, "We're just getting started."

It has been known that Netflix has cut ties with House of Cards Season 6's original star, Kevin Spacey, in November 2017 after being accused of sexual harassment and misconduct by the Star Trek star Anthony Rapp.

In spite of the cancellation threats, Netflix decided to continue House of Cards Season 6's production in January after suspending it for about a couple of months. Spacey was also replaced with two big Hollywood stars - Unfaithful's Diane Lane and Little Miss Sunshine's Greg Kinnear. However, it is not yet revealed what roles they are playing.

In December, the Netflix content chief Ted Sarandos confirmed that House of Cards Season 6 will return without Spacey and his character. This move is to give "closure of the show for fans." Also, instead of the usual 13 episodes, the show will only consist of eight chapters.

Meanwhile, Netflix recently announced its latest quarterly earnings, which are worth of $39 million that includes the late installment of House of Cards Season 6, Fortune reported. This, too, contains another canceled project, a Gore Vidal biopic, of Spacey for the network. The streaming giant didn't reveal if it has lost a big amount of money on projects involving Space, knowing that House of Cards is one of its first breakout hits.

House of Cards Season 6 is set to be released this fall on Netflix.
