'Better Call Saul' Season 4 Update: Vince Gilligan Teases Jesse Pinkman's Possible Appearance
Fans will surely want to see more Breaking Bad characters coming to Better Call Saul Season 4. And it looks like the show's creator, Vince Gilligan, will hear the viewers' cry as Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) might be seen in the upcoming spin-off series.
In an interview with Digital Spy, Gilligan revealed that he is open to bringing Jesse back on television. As the 51-year-old writer didn't reveal how he will make it, fans started to think that there could be no way for Paul to return but in Better Call Saul Season 4.
To make things work, Gilligan recalled the ending of Breaking Bad Season 5, analyzing what really happened to Jesse after he was last seen inside his car. There were a lot of possibilities what could have happened to Walter White's (Bryan Cranston) partner in crime.
According to Gilligan, there might be a police waiting for Jesse to be caught. There could also a possibility that there was a free future waiting for him at the time. "I personally would like to think he got away because he paid his dues tenfold," he said.
He went on to say that he really has no idea how to continue Jesse's character and what career path he is taking after his life in Breaking Bad Season 5. But, he is hoping that he got away from all his problems, meet someone nice, and avoided being a criminal anymore.
Gilligan also admitted that he likes Jesse's character personally as he has a soft spot for him. "You never know if that character may get revisited in the future...Anything's possible," he then said about the possibility of Paul's appearance in Better Call Saul Season 4.
Meanwhile, according to Indie Wire, Jesse's possible cameo in Better Call Saul Season 4 might ruin the essence of the show. As the spin-off series features the life story of Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) before Breaking Bad happened, it might clutter the show's story timeline.
However, knowing how genius the series' writers are for successfully introducing Breaking Bad characters to the series, the appearance of Jesse in Better Call Saul Season 4 is not far to happen.
AMC has yet to announce the official release of Better Call Saul Season 4.
