Korean Actor Ye Hak Young Caught Drunk Driving But Not Arrested

Korean model/actor Ye Hak Young is in hot water once again. This time he was caught drunk driving and was later charged with driving under the influence. It is expected that he will face legal punishment once again after the drug scandal he got involved in 2009. 

Reports indicated that police caught Ye sleeping in his car that is parked on a road near the entrance of Guryong Village in the Gangnam District of Seoul on Friday morning. Police checked his alcohol level and it was revealed that he is at 0.067 percent at the time. This level is over the limit of 0.05% and is high enough to get his driver's license suspended.

Reports indicated that the Suseo Police Station records indicated that Ye was not arrested at the time, but was summoned to the police office for further investigations. He was booked under the suspicion of drinking and driving but was not detained.

Ye Hak Young 2009 Drug Scandal

Ye was arrested in 2009 on the suspicion of smuggling and using ecstasy and ketamine. He was charged with the offense. He was later sentenced a 30-month jail term suspended for four years, two years of probation, and 200 hours of community service for smuggling and taking banned substances. Ye was arrested along with Korean stars Joo Ji-Hoon and Yoon Seol-Hee.

Joo Ji-hoon received a suspended sentence of six months jail term and a year of probation. In addition, he also served 120 hours of community service. Yoon Seol-hee, on the other hand, was sentenced to three-years of jail.

Ye Hak Young Career 

Ye jumpstarted his modeling career in 2001 through the Seoul Collection. He appeared in some clothing and cell phone ads, as well as music videos for groups like SG Wannabe and Gavy NJ. He made his first acting appearance in the MBC sitcom series, Nonstop 4

He also appeared in cable television version of Dasepo Naughty Girls in 2006 and in Hyun Bin and Lee Yeon-hee's Millionaire's First Love. Yek has done movies too such as Like Father Like Son, Tummy, Cadaver, Horny Family, and A Pharisee.

He returned to the entertainment industry in 2011 after serving his jail term and has been featured in various shows and films. He starred in the 2014 drama, A Pharisee, but has been off the limelight since then.
