‘Friday The 13th’ Game Clears Its Kickstarter Goal; Release Date Announced!
The "Friday the 13th" game has finally cleared its Kickstarter goal which will ensure its launch, according to DigitalTrends.
A month ago, Gun Media announced that the studio will be creating a game that will have "Friday the 13th" story as its theme. A lot of people who were related to the movie series were interested to join the project. Even Director Sean S. Cunningham and the original actor who played Jason, Kane Hodder were interested in joining.
The studio launched a Kickstarter project with a goal of $700,000 to make this game a reality.
The goal has been reached just now and this game will now become a reality. The funding goal has now been exceeded with a total of $713,390, according to Gamespot.
"Jason has been unleashed! THANK YOU ALL!!!!," said the update on the game's Kickstarter page.
Now that the funding goal has been achieved the developers will add a new "Sleeping Bag Kill" feature which was popular from the movies. There will be different stretch goals now, which will include new kills and more, according to PlayStationLifestyle.net.
Randy Greenback, Gun Media's executive director, discussed about delivering the best experience that came from the story of "Friday the 13th."
"This has been a rollercoaster ride from the start," said Greenback. "From announcing Summer Camp, to becoming the official Friday the 13th game, and now we have the backing of a legion of fans? To say I'm excited would be putting it lightly. I'm downright ecstatic!"
The "Friday the 13th" game will be launching on Oct. 2016. It will be launched on all new generation consoles which are the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and also on the PC. Those who have pledged at least $25 on the Kickstarter project will be guaranteed a copy of the game.
