According to the list issued by MTV EMA, five Korean act- GFRIEND, Highlight, Mamamoo, Seventeen and Wanna One, have been nominated for Best Korea Act. Seeing the popularity of K-Pop, the category was included in the list back in 2013, reports Soompi.

EXO was the first one to win the award in 'Best Korea Act' category followed by B.A.P and BTS winning in 2014 and 2015 respectively. B.A.P has so far won twice at MTV EMA for this particular category.

The winner will be announced in an award ceremony that will be held on November 13 at The SSE Arena, Wembley in London. Rita Ora, who is also nominated for Best Look award, will host the show this time. This year the Best Male and Best Female categories will be retired and replaced with the Best Artist category. Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran, Kendrick Lamar, Miley Cyrus, Shawn Mendes and TaylorSwift are nominated for this newly introduced section. Having made her comeback, Tylor Swift has a maximum number of nominations. The blank space singer has six nominations including 'Best Video'.

Winners for each category will be decided on the basis of votes given by the viewers. MTV Music Editorial Team will only be liable to select Best Video of the year.

The MTV Europe Music Awards honor musicians and performers every year. The first EMAs ceremony was held in 1994 in Berlin, Germany.
