A slew of all new characters are joining "The Shannara Chronicles" Season 2 on Spike. Ahead of the teen fantasy series' premiere in two weeks, here are the new faces who will arrive in the Four Lands.
The first season of the fantasy series introduced Austin Butler as Wil Ohmsford, a half-human, half-elf and the last of the titular Shannara bloodline. He is destined to save the Four Lands, a fantastic and magical world, from demons.
The series also starred Poppy Drayton as Amberle Elssedil a.k.a. The Elven Princess, Ivana Baquero as Eretria, Manu Bennett as Allanon and Aaron Jakubenko as Ander Elessedil. Marcus Vanco, Emilia Burns, Malese Jow, Glen Levy Jed Brophy and Vanessa Morgan also appear.
In "The Shannara Chronicles" Season 2, the Four Lands is growing even bigger. The fantasy series based on the novels by Terry Brooks will bring new faces to the fictional Four Lands.
As reported by Deadline, Vanessa Morgan ("Finding Carter") was added to the cast as Lyria, a beautiful and mysterious young woman who will be "romantically linked" to Eretria. She is a new and original character created solely for the show.
Malese Jow ("The Flash) will play Mareth, a young woman who possesses magical abilities, Meanwhile, Gentry White is Garet, a charismatic bounty hunter known across Four Lands as "The Weapons Master."
Caroline Chikezie ("Everly") will bring Queen Tamlin to life. A powerful and cunning woman who governs over Leah, the only kingdom in the Four Lands inhabited by humans.
Last but not the least is Desmond Chiam ("NCIS: Los Angeles") who will portray General Riga. The former Eventine Army General is now the leader of an extremist group called "The Crimson."
"The Shannara Chronicles" Season 2 will explore places in the Four Lands that viewers have never seen before. Show co-creator Miles Millar said that the team did not want to go back in Arborlon so the fantasy series is journeying to a new place, particularly the Palace of Leah.
"So we built the whole Palace of Leah," he said in a featurette (via Just Jared). "Very gold, very blingy and very different from the Elves."
Al Gough added that viewers will also see Storlock "which is kind of a gnome village and they are the best healers in the Four Lands." Other places that will be explored in the upcoming season are Graymark and Skull Mountain.
"The Shannara Chronicles" Season 2 will premiere on Oct. 11 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Spike. Watch the trailer below.
