13 Reasons Why

After discovering the 13 reasons that led classmate and friend, Hannah Baker (Katherine Langford), to take her own life, Clay Jensen (Dylan Minnette) is the road to recovering and getting a closure. Does this mean he might fall in love with someone else in "13 Reasons Why" Season 2?

Moving on will not be easy for Clay; in the first season of the controversial teen drama, it was revealed that he fell in love with his classmate and friend, Hannah. However, before he was able to confess his feelings, he committed suicide.

In Season 2, after blaming himself, Clay will finally recover from the devastation of losing his first love. And, there might be room in his heart to be happy with someone else.

Recently, the Jensen spoke to US Weekly and talked about his character's arc in "13 Reasons Why" Season 2. The publication asked if love is in the air for Clay in the upcoming installment of the teen drama.

"I don't know if there's a new love [interest]," he admitted. "We'll just have to see."

"13 Reasons Why" is based on a best-selling novel of the same title. While the Netflix series produced by Selena Gomez was, in the most part, a pretty close adaptation, there is no way to know what Season 2 has in store because author Jay Asher did not write a follow-up.

Whatever show creator Brian Yorkey has planned in the upcoming season, Jensen assured that Hannah will not be forgotten. The actor revealed that Clay will find closure after Hannah's suicide, but he might not be able to completely put the experience behind him.

"I think that that last shot of Season 1 was a glimpse at him maybe beginning to find some closure, whatever way that is," he said. "I don't think it's complete closure, because I don't think he'll really ever be able to find complete closure in that chapter of his life because it's the biggest thing that's ever happened to him, the most impactful thing that's ever happened to him."

Hannah and her death will still be at the heart of "13 Reasons Why" Season 2. Yorkey revealed in a previous interview with EW that, not only will Langford reprise her role in the teen drama, the story of her character is not over yet.

One of the things that he wants to explore in the upcoming season is the question of whether someone is at fault for the suicide of the teenager. He also wants to expand on some of the events that led Hannah to take her own life.

Netflix still has not announced an exact release date for "13 Reasons Why" Season 2. Considering that the streaming service usually wait a year before they release new episodes, fans can expect the next chapter of Clay and Hannah's story to continue in 2018.
