Starbucks Reports Sharp Increase In Quarterly Profits

Starbucks' plain red cup issue is making trends in the internet because of lacking Christmas design on it.

The Starbucks' cups issue started when most Christians took notice about the plain red theme dropping all Christmas related designs. On Nov.5, a former Arizona pastor and social media personality, Joshua Feuerstein posted a video on Facebook showing that he went to Starbucks, ordered a coffee and tricked the barista that his name is "Merry Christmas" so that it would be written on his cup. Feuerstein discreetly also went into the store with a gun, reported in Forbes.

Feuerstein action of carrying a firearms is his protest to the Starbucks' CEO Howard Schultz, who implemented a policy that no firearms is allowed inside their store even if it's legal in the state. He also wore a Christ printed shirt upon his prank visit in Starbucks. He wants to make a movement for the Starbucks issue into the social media by pursuing fellow Christians to take a photo of the cup with a caption, "#MerryChristmasStarbucks," according to Tech Times.

The Starbucks' cups issue quickly rose that the company had released a statement in their website saying that the design is a hint for the "customers who have been doodling designs on cups for years," according to The New York Times.

"This year's design is another way Starbucks is inviting customers to create their own stories with a red cup that mimics a blank canvas," the statement continued.

"This year we wanted to usher in the holidays with a purity of design that welcomes all of our stories," Jeffrey Fields, the vice president of design and content said, as reported in Tech Times.

Starbucks has become a place of sanctuary during the holidays," Fields said in a statement in The New York Times. "We're embracing the simplicity and the quietness of it," he added.
