2PM's Taecyeon Can't Wait For Military Enlistment
While many fans would expect that their idols are weary about enlisting for the military. 2PM's Taecyeon is proving to be quite different.
According to a report by Yonhap News, Taecyeon has expressed his plans to enlist in the military this year after he completes his latest drama. The K-pop idol and actor have signed up for the lead of OCN's suspense thriller "Save Me."
"I really want to go (to the military) this year," Taecyeon said. "I will if the Military Manpower Administration summons me."
Taecyeon is currently 28 years old and is expected to be called by the Military Manpower Administration soon. If he enlists this year, he joins other popular celebrities like BIG BANG's T.O.P., JYJ's Kim Junsu, ZE:A's Kwanghee, Super Junior maknae Kyuhyun, and actors like Joo Won and Lee Min Ho, among others.
Also expected to enlist like Taecyeon soon are "Healer" star Ji Chang Wook, BIG BANG's G-Dragon and Taeyang. G-Dragon has announced plans to enlist next year for his two-year mandatory service.
It can be recalled that Military Manpower Administration has amended the ruling for celebrity enlistments early this year. The MMA will be in charge of the entire process of enlistment for celebrities to address the issue of delayed enlistments.
According to the memorandum furnished to all entertainment agencies, they were required to submit a list of all their talents and artists to streamline the process of enlistment. The order expands the coverage to celebrities and athletes who enlist with the military.
"Celebrity enlistment is an interest to the whole nation. As a new law has been implemented for a thorough care, we need active cooperation from entertainment agencies," All Kpop cited their source in their report. It seems that the government will have no problem with delays from Taecyeon is already super excited to start training and be deployed as a conscripted policeman.
