Bob Ross Painting Session On Twitch To Be Resurrected; Details Released!
The Bob Ross painting session on Twitch will be brought back due to popular demand, according to Polygon.
Last Friday, The marathon of Bob Ross' "The Joy of Painting" was ended. It lasted nine days and a lot of viewers joined in the special channel. The final episode alone had more than 183,000 viewers. In total, 5.6 million viewers watched the Bob Ross marathon and made the "/bobross" channel one of the streaming site's most popular channels.
Twitch has decided to bring the Bob Ross channel back again for streaming, according to iDigitalTimes. The streaming site decided to bring it back due to the fans asking for the channel to be back. It announced its decision earlier this morning on its official blog. The handlers of Twitch talked with the right holders of "The Joy of Painting" and agreed that it can be aired back. A season will be aired every Monday from 6:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. EST.
"Whether you've had a great Monday and want to celebrate with a familiar crowd, or your day has plain sucked and you want to be calmed by his soothing tones, Bob will always be there for you every Monday night without fail," said Twitch Creative head Bill Moorier. "Life is full of happy accidents"
There are 31 seasons of "The Joy of Painting" in total. The show will only repeat once every seven months. The right holders also allowed the streaming website to re-stream these weekly marathons, according to PC Gamer.
The channel was able to raise proceeds that will be divided between the right holders and other organizations. These organizations are the Root Division, which is a visual arts non-profit organization, St. Jude, which is a cancer research hospital and the Twitch Creative community support.
The Bob Ross painting sessions will also have marathons annually, which will begin on Oct. 29 of each year and it is also Bob Ross' birthday.
