'The Originals' Season 5 Spoilers: Hope To Headline Spinoff Show; Klaroline To Reunite In New Season

'The Originals" has found the perfect actress to play the teenage version of Hope Mikaelson. The CW has recently announced that they have cast "Wonder" actress Danielle Rose Russel for the role.

According to a report by EW, Russel has shown her acting chops in films like Liam Neeson's "A Walk Among the Tombstones" and Bradley Cooper's "Aloha." Her skills have impressed the team at "The Originals" who are planning a potential spinoff based on Hope's character.

In an interview with "The Vampire Diaries" creator Julie Plec takes over the role of showrunner from Michael Narducci for "The Originals" Season 5, she is planning to make another spinoff from "The Vampire Diaries" like she did with "The Originals." While The CW has not finalized details about the new show, it could also pick up from characters from "The Originals" and may pick up the cudgels of the franchise after the Mikaelsons of New Orleans end their run.

It is unsure whether The CW plans on picking up "The Originals" for the sixth season and this may hugely depend on the reception of the fans to the show's fifth season expected to air this fall. When "The Originals" Season 4 ended, it showed Hope as she enrolled in Alaric and Caroline's School for Magic.

"While I love the world of the boarding school and all that it represents, that would be an entirely new show that I haven't even begun to think about, but the doors were not left open unintentionally," Julie Plec said about the potential "The Originals" spinoff. "They're open with a hope, not a promise."

With the boarding school offers the possible opening for a spinoff, it also opens the doors for a potential reunion between Klaus and Caroline, collectively known Klaroline. It can be recalled that the reunion was earlier teased at "The Vampire Diaries" finale when Klaus sent Caroline a sweet note and a generous gift for her academy, Korea Portal reported.

However, when Julie Plec was asked about a Klaroline reunion in "The Originals" Season 4, she said that fans would need to wait a bit more because "The Vampire Diaries" finale and "The Originals" Season 4 timelines don't match. She did not close the doors about the two former lovers' crossing paths again but with Hope enrolling in Caroline's school, the time may finally be right to sail the Klaroline ship anew.
