Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo played the lead characters in the KBS drama series 'Descendants of the Sun.'

Since the announcement of the wedding of "Descendants of the Sun" stars Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo, fans have been curious about the thoughts of the actors' families. Recently, the father of the former broke his silence and shared some exclusive details.

Joong Ki's father had an exclusive interview with SBS FunE to talk about the relationship of the "Descendants of the Sun" stars fondly called by fans as the Song-Song couple. One of the revelations the father made was that Hye Kyo has slept over at their family house prior to engagement.

Hye Kyo was not the only one who slept over at the house of Joong Ki's family at the time. They were with their "Descendants of the Sun" co-stars Jin Goo and Kim Ji Won and they decided to spend the night there because the filming location of the hit series was near.

In the interview, Joong Ki's father denied the rumors that he was against the marriage of the Song-Song couple. He explained that it was only a misunderstanding.

In fact, Joong Ki's father was glad that his son was engaged and was looking forward to seeing his grandchildren. The father's wish for his son is for him to work harder as an actor and to be responsible for his future household.

For Joong Ki's father, the "Descendants of the Sun" star is at the best age to get married. As a parent, he respects his son's decision, he said.

Joong Ki will turn 32 on Sept. 19. On the other hand, Hye Kyo will turn 36 on Nov. 22.

In "Descendants of the Sun," Joong Ki played a soldier who falls in love with a doctor played by Hye Kyo. Jin and Kim also played main characters Master Sergeant Seo Dae Young and First Lieutenant Yoon Myung Ju, respectively.

On the big screen, Joong Ki will star in "The Battleship Island." The historical action drama film will hit theaters in South Korea on July 26, according to All Kpop.

"The Battleship Island" was directed by Ryoo Seung Wan. Among Joong Ki's co-stars are Kim Su An and So Ji Seob.
