The K-pop scene may be bursting with young up and comers and a lot of new talent but MelOn list for 2007-2017 showed that BIG BANG is still leading the pack. For the past decade, the iconic group has proven with their track record and individual achievements that they have already built a strong legacy for others to follow.

Based on MelOn's 10-year chart, BIG BANG was the runaway winner with a total of 51 weeks at # 1. G-Dragon, T.O.P., Taeyang, Daesung and Seungri managed to chart a total of 18 songs at #1, Naver Entertainment reported.

IU places second in the MelOn chart with 36 weeks at #1 with 16 songs making it to #1. "Nobody But You" hitmakers, the Wonder Girls, who have now gone their separate ways, stayed at #1 for 32 weeks with a total of 8 number 1 hits.

YG Entertainment's recently disbanded K-pop girl group landed at fourth place with 28 weeks on top with 12 #1 hits. Another group which recently disbanded, SISTAR made it to fifth place with 27 weeks on top of the charts with 10 #1 songs on the MelOn 10 year chart.

SNSD posted a record of 17 weeks and 8 songs at #1 while Davichi trailed at 16 weeks and 10 #1 hits. Popular rap duo Leessang and TWICE are tied at 11 weeks at #1 each with Leessang snagging 5 #1 songs and TWICE with only three on the MelOn chart. This is a major accomplishment for popular K-pop girl group TWICE which only debuted in 2015 since most of the artists on the list debuted way before them.

Miss A and Infinite Challenge are also tied for 9th place with 10 weeks on top of the charts and five #1 songs each. Gangnam Style singer PSY and Busker Busker are also tied for 10th place with nine weeks at #1 each on MelOn. PSY had 3 #1 songs while Busker Busker had five.

Aside from topping the MelOn list, BIG BANG recently became the first K-pop group to reach 300 million views on youtube with their megahit "Fantastic Baby." BIG BANG also placed third in the list of most influential K-pop groups in a survey conducted among entertainment agency CEOs, proving their strong pull despite being on hiatus because of the members' military enlistments, Kpopstarz reported.
