FIFA has been one of the best-selling video game franchise of all time. Players around the world enjoy the fast-paced football game that has been entertaining us for decades. EA Sports is all set to come out with the next installment of the game this year. The game will be using the Frostbite Engine for the second time in a row, in order to deliver an engrossing experience. EA Sports used the same engine last year, in FIFA 17.

The much-appreciated game mode: Journey, will make a comeback with its next installment in FIFA 18 this year. Well, that is only if you weren't planning on playing FIFA 18 on the Nintendo Switch.

According to a report, Nintendo Switch will be getting a different version of the FIFA 18 which will not be running on the latest Frostbite Engine, nor will the game have a journey mode. To make matters worse, the game will not be called 'FIFA 18'...it will be called 'FIFA on the Nintendo Switch'.

This could potentially cripple the sales of the game unless EA Sports and Nintendo are able to come up with a game that impresses fans with its features and portability.

Portability of the Nintendo Switch could prove to be a huge factor in the success or failure of the game. Fans are often willing to give up on features in order to play a downgraded version of the game on a portable platform. This has been proven by the success of games such as 'Hit the Pass', Rich Grisham.

FIFA is the perfect game to play while traveling on a train or a plane. It could potentially kill boredom in time-consuming situations as well like the waiting lounge of an airport. All in All, EA Sports will have to come up with new game modes and attractive features in order to keep their customers of FIFA on the Nintendo Switch, not to mention nobody wants to see Ronaldo that looks like a paper maché doll because of the graphics. Lack of Frostbite engine might be a deal breaker for many customers. But then again, the Nintendo Switch hardly has the processing and graphics power to support an engine like Frostbite.
