‘Vikings’ Season 5 Spoiler: Sigurd Is Still Alive
History Channel renewed its popular drama series "Vikings" Season 5 sometime last year. The filming and production of the 5th season, comprising of 20 episodes, began since the time of the announcement. Fans of the show have been waiting for more updates ever since.
According to a report published by TV Guide, "Vikings" Season 5 is done with most of the filming. The show's only work remaining is its post-production after which; the drama series will be ready for a premier, which appears to be closer than expected. The fifth season of "Vikings" is expected to take off where season fourth left. As can be recalled, the fourth season entailed Ragnar Lothbrok (which is played by Travis Fimmel) and his son's journey towards fighting off Sigurd (played by David Lingstorm). In the fourth season, the fans saw how the latter got hacked through his midsection by an ax by his own brother Ivar (which is played by Alex Hogh Anderson).
Now, a report published by International Business Times suggests that Sigurd might be shown surviving the ax attack that took place in the "Vikings" Season 4. It was shown that Sigurd had fallen unconscious after the attack; however, what exactly happened after that is still unknown. What was established basically is that Sigurd was bounded by a river by Blaeja (played by Caitlin Scott).
It is interesting to note that "Vikings" Season 5 trailer showcased Sigurd's funeral. Therefore, the above-given theory remains defeated. However, the funeral is held without Sigurd's body; therefore, there is still a ray of hope for Sigurd's survival. "Vikings" Executive Producer Morgan O'Sullivan in an interview with IFTN revealed that he feels that the show managed to garner so much attention mainly because of its cast. No official release date has been mentioned by any authorities yet.
