‘The Sims 4: Pets’ Update: Gaming Leak Hints Of Animation Work On Animal-Themed DLC
New details about the highly-awaited "The Sims 4: Pets" DLC was recently revealed. It appears that an animator from Electronic Arts listed some of his achievements for the said company that included work on animal characters.
"The Sims 4: Pets" is undoubtedly one of the most requested DLCs for Electronic Arts' life simulation game. Animal Sims were once stapled characters in earlier versions of "The Sims" but was not included in the franchise's latest installment, "The Sims 4."
However, latest gaming leaks suggested that game developers might already be working on a potential "The Sims 4: Pets" DLC. Recently, the LinkedIn profile of an animator at Electronic Arts hinted of the ongoing development of animal Sims. Dennis Lai indicated on his resume, as cited by Sims VIP, that some of his achievements included animation work on toddlers, human characters, and quadrupeds.
Given that quadrupeds also refer to four-legged animal creatures, avid fans speculated that Lai may be one of the animators working on "The Sims 4: Pets." Moreover, the said animator's LinkedIn resume revealed that he started his employment with Electronic Arts in August 2016. With the release of toddlers as a free "The Sims 4" update earlier this year, Lai might have been tasked to also help developers with animation work for pet Sims since late last year.
Meanwhile, this is not the first time that gaming leaks revealed evidence of game developers working on "The Sims 4: Pets" DLC. Eagle-eyed "The Sims 4" players previously found hidden game codes that specifically mentioned cats and dogs as potential new Sim characters.
In an earlier "The Sims 4: Pets" gaming leak, game codes for animal specific actions were found in "The Sims 4" files. The said codes suggested that pet Sims will be able to walk on beds, tables, bars, counter tops, including the fridge, Sims Community reported.
At this time, it is still unsure if game developers included "The Sims 4: Pets" as part of its planned DLC releases for the year. Neither Maxis nor Electronic Arts have commented on the said gaming speculations.
