‘Individualist Ms. Ji Young’ Star Gong Myung Overwhelmed By His Popularity?
Actor Gong Myung recently graced the press conference for the upcoming KBS TV series "Individualist Ms. Ji Young." During his interview, Gong Myung was introduced as the "popular trending younger guy" of his generation. The actor, who was overwhelmed by the label, chose to stay humble. He said that he is just a younger guy, but he doesn't think that he's popular or that he's trending on social media.
Gong Myung also opened up about his character, Byuk Soo, from the series. As of late, the official title of the series hasn't been confirmed yet. "Individualist Ms. Ji Young" is just dubbed as a working title for the project, according to Soompi.
In the upcoming series, Byuk Soo will be depicted as a young man who relies on other people's affection to make him feel happy and fulfilled. Byuk Soo is also in a relationship with Min Hyo Rin's character, Ji Young.
"Somehow, I ended up playing the younger boyfriend character again. I am thankful that a lot of people are viewing me in a positive light. Rather than thinking about the role as just a younger guy, I focused more on the unique character of Byuk Soo," he said.
"Individualist Ms. Ji Young" is a two-episode psychological romantic comedy that will be released on KBS on May 8 and 9. The official synopsis for the series reveals that Ji Young is a thorough individualist who does not like building relationships with other people. Byuk Soo, on the other hand, is the type of guy who can't live without relationships.
The two characters will clash because of their differences, but they are also expected to set those aside to become a couple. In the teaser released by KBS, an angry Ji Young is seen fighting with a lot of people. She has so much angst within herself, but all this will change the minute she crosses paths with Byuk Soo.
Other cast members include Ji Il Joo as Yeon Seok, Jang Hee Ryung as Ye Jin and Oh Na Ra as Soo Kyung.
