‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 6 Release Date Delayed; No Details Revealed Regarding Premiere Date
"Game of Thrones" will have to wait for a while for the fans since it will premier in a later date than the usual, according to Vanity Fair.
A year back, the popular TV series ended quite well and the fans were satisfied. The ending, however was hanging and made the audience wanting more. News for a much better season are expected as there have been news for new cast members and better locations in season six.
HBO has now announced that the show will premiere next year in May, according to Polygon. It usually premieres in April alongside with other TV shows like "Silicon Valley" and "Veep". This time it will be together with "Girls, Togetherness" and another new series titled "Vinyl".
A premier date for the show has not been set and did not give further details on how the other shows will be affected when "Game of Thrones" will be shown, according to IGN. It might use the slot of the week for "Girls and Togetherness" finale.
The series might also run into the summer months, instead of finishing up in early June, according to Comicbook.com. Fans are interested of the change and how it will affect the ratings for the TV show.
There might be another reason that the TV show will be delayed. A rock and roll drama show, "Vinyl", will premiere with a two hour episode in "Game of Throne's" usual time slot on Feb. 14 next year. HBO also confirms that the show will run for 10 weeks and will end on April 17.
HBO usually takes a week off to rest and then lets another show to take over that slot. There is also another theory which involves the author. They want George R.R. Martin to have more time to release the next book before the show kicks off, according to sources.
