LG is working on a smaller display size variant of its G6 smartphone, even though the name the device has still not been revealed. Latest rumors point at a new phone LG might be working on could be dubbed as LG G6 Mini.
According to the report on TechnoBuffalo, the new LG G6 option sports a 5.4-inch display with 80 per cent screen-to-body ratio. Smaller sized LG G6 Mini will have the same 18:9 screen-to-body ratio which we saw on the original G6, as reported by Indian Express.
The report from publication also lays down some details of this unknown device that hasn't been confirmed by the company. However, the information comes from "an internal document provided to TechnoBuffalo by a trusted source".
According to India Today, the purported LG G6 Mini may then look similar in size to the iPhone 7 that has a 4.7-inch display. Apple iPhone 7, which is Apple's last year flagship comes in the 4.7-inch display while iPhone 7 Plus has a 5.5-inch screen. Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ sports 5.8-inch and 6.2-inch display respectively.
Speculations suggest that LG may build the LG G6 Mini around the same chipset -- Snapdragon 821 -- which won't remain 'high-end' when the device comes out. Still, with its reduced price, LG will have a rivalry from brands like OnePlus, who is gearing up to launch the OnePlus 5.
LG G6 is touting G6's 5.7-inch QHD+ 'Full Vision' display as one of the highlights of the smartphone. The device comes with 18:9 display ratio, which the company claims is the first in any smartphone. LG G6 features a metal and glass design and comes with 13MP+13MP dual rear camera setup with 125 and a 71-degree field of view respectively.
LG G6 gets the IP68 rating that means the smartphone is water and dust resistance. The smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 821 processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, microSD card support, Hi-Fi DAC and a fingerprint scanner. G6 is having a 3,300mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 3.0.
