‘Orange Is The New Black’ Season 5 Leaks Online After Netflix Refused To Pay ‘The Dark Overlord’

New episodes of "Orange is the New Black" Season 5 were recently leaked online by a group of hackers called "The Dark Overlord."

According to Variety, the anonymous group demanded a huge sum of money from Netflix, but the online streaming company refused to pay up. As a result, they released copies of Season 5, episodes 2 to 10 online on Saturday. The first episode for "Orange is the New Black" Season 5 was also leaked online on Friday.

Following the premiere episode's leak, a representative for Netflix released a statement saying that they are aware of what just happened. "A production vendor used by several major TV studios had its security compromised and the appropriate law enforcement authorities are involved." However, the rep didn't detail what their plan of action will be. 

There are also rumors suggesting that the same group of hackers also got a hold of a few TV shows from ABC, Fox, IFC and National Geographic.

Meanwhile, the fifth season of the Taylor Schilling starrer picks up right where Season 4 left off. At that time, Poussey (Samira Wiley) has just been killed while inside Litchfield prison. According to TV Line, all 13 episodes of "Orange is the New Black" will take place in real time and over the course of just three days.

While speaking with Glamour, Schilling said that all 13 episodes will be very exciting because everything happens in a fast-paced timeline. Additionally, the stakes will also be very high because everyone wants to give Poussey justice.

"I think the stakes are higher in this season that they have been in a while just by virtue of the compressed time and seeing people in compressed circumstance really raises the stakes. It's exciting to watch, I think for all of us," she said.

"Orange is the New Black" Season 5 will stream on Netflix starting June 9.
