Jeff Goldblum Joins Jurassic World Sequel
Jeff Goldblum, one of the original stars of the iconic Jurassic Park franchise, is returning for the sequel to Jurassic World, along with Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, who both starred in the film reboot last 2015. The veteran actor previously expressed his interest in joining Jurassic installments last year, telling fans and press, "Maybe" when asked if he would ever return to reprise his role as Dr. Ian Malcolm in the classic film.
"I'm nothing if not open. I'm like an open-faced sandwich. My door is not always open - I took the door off. I removed the hinges from the door. I'm too open. I'm like a chicken piccata. What was I about to say? Oh yes, the two [Jurassic Park] movies I did with them were plenty. If I never did anything more, I'd certainly be well satisfied," Goldblum told Fandango early last year.
As soon as news was released that he was taking part in the dinosaur franchise again, fans went to social media to express their excitement, putting him on trending topics. In case you don't remember, Jeff Goldblum played an intelligent and zany insurance consultant and chaos theorist in the original 1993 Jurassic Park film, his character amassing fans across countries and generations. There isn't much information available yet regarding the film's plot. No word yet as well if fellow original co-star Julianne Moore will be reprising her role as Malcom's girlfriend.
The next Jurassic World film will be directed by J.A. Bayona and produced by Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley, joined by executive producers Steven Spielberg and Colin Treverrow. We will see Jeff Goldblum next year as Jurassic World 2 is slated to be released on June 22, 2018. Goldblum is also set to star in upcoming Disney film Thor: Ragnarok, which is opening on November 3 this year.
