'Bad Guys' Season 2 Updates: Original Cast And Team Reunites For OCN Sequel; Season 2 Will Air In September?
Fans will get a second round of action, drama and mystery in the crime drama "Bad Guys" Season 2 as OCN gears to film the second season of the hit action series. While lead actors Kim Sang Joong, Park Hae Jin, Ma Dong-seok, Jo Dong Hyuk and Kang Ye Won are busy with their own projects, it is expected that "Bad Guys" Season 1 writer Han Jung Hoon will be busy writing for the upcoming season for the meantime.
Last November, it was confirmed that OCN was planning a second season the highly successful crime drama. "Bad Guys" Season 1 posted ratings high for the cable network as fans of the show could not get enough of the action and suspense that revolved around three convicts who have been tapped to solve a series of crimes by Team Leader Oh Gu Tak (Kim Sang Joong), whose own motives for working with criminals were also questionable, Drama Beans reported.
"Bad Guys" Season 1 focused on unraveling the connection between the characters and establishing their rapport as a team. It also led audiences to question right from wrong as the serial killer Lee Jung Moon (Park Hae Jin), underground thug Park Un Cheol (Ma Dong Seok) and hired assassin Jung Tae Soo (Jo Dong Hyuk) struggled to atone for their sins and regain their humanity by trying to save people's lives. It can be recalled that at the end of the season, Oh Gu Tak was also imprisoned because of his own crimes and Kang Ye Won's character was shown to be gearing to set him loose to help solve a violent crime.
Ma Dong Seok also clued fans in on the possibility of a Season 2 during the behind the scenes footage when he joked that they will be filming "Bad Guys" Season 2 first. Aside from the original cast and writer, on set camera director Han Dong Hwa will also work as the PD for "Bad Guys" Season 2 so fans can expect the same thrilling formula that made the show great in the first season.
According to a report by Soompi, "Bad Guys" Season 2 is set to air in the second half of 2017. It is expected to release after the series "Tunnel," "Duel" and the upcoming thriller "Save Me" starring 2PM's Taecyeon.
