Google Pixel 2 rumors

Google Pixel 2 is expected to come with OLED displays manufactured by Samsung, as reports suggest that Google may continue to use the OLED technology this year. However, the company is believed to face one problem.

Google Pixel 2 May Have Some Problems With OLED Technology

Google Pixel 2 is seen to face some problems that may affect the phone's supply in the future. According to reports, Samsung is currently the king of the OLED display market for smartphones, and Apple has acquired a large chunk of OLED screens for its iPhone 8. Given Google's high demand for its smartphones, the tech giant is expected to encounter problems in terms of supply. Meantime, latest reports reveal that Google is ready to put an investment worth $900 million in LG Display in order to secure OLED displays for its new smartphones.

Google Pixel 2's OLED screen supply is now being looked at by the company. Reports suggest that if LG and Google would sign a deal, the OLED displays for Google's smartphones will be made not earlier than the third quarter. However, it is not clear yet if Google will use LG curved displays, or if the phone would have curved edges, BGR reported.

Google Pixel 2 Is Likely Coming In October 2017

Google Pixel 2 is believed to be in the early stages of development, considering that the major design features like the waterproofing seem not finished yet. Based on reports, the lack of final design suggests that Pixel 2 may likely be released in October this year. Meantime, the SIM-free Pixel 2 is also rumored to come with a price tag of more than £600, while the first Google Pixel smartphone was sold at  £599, Expert Reviews reported.
