The ongoing word war between the U.S. and North Korea is heating up by the day as Defense Secretary James Mattis described Pyongyang's current movement as reckless and its nuclear ambitions should be stopped. This after news came out just recently that the hermit nation is planning in conducting its sixth nuclear test that has raised concerns over the region and in the west.

When asked by a reporter about his thoughts on Iran at a press conference in London, Mattis pointed out that North Korea is a more serious threat as of late. The U.S. official stated that it is a "threat of both rhetoric and growing capability" adding that they plan on taking things diplomatically as they might enlist personnel in getting the North Korean situation under control, FOX News reported. He then pivoted saying that the actions of Pyongyang as of late are very reckless and such should be stopped.

In line with this, North Korea has accused the U.S. of deploying its heavy strategic B-1B bombers over on its South Korean counterpart adding that the aircraft was spotted five times flying on the mentioned air space. State-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), via UPI released a statement on Saturday, April 1 saying that the flybys happened from March 15-30 as it was escorted by other planes while conducting bomb-drop training during the 2017 Foal Eagle joint military exercises.

South Korea, on the other hand, has confirmed that the U.S. did deploy four B-1B bombers on a couple of training events in the said region. The heavy bomber has perturbed North Korea as the aircraft can reach the Korean airspace in just a couple of hours hailing from its Guam air base. Despite carrying heavy payloads of non-nuclear firepower, the B-1B, known to servicemen as "Bone" (B-One), is capable of piercing through the sound barrier with speeds reaching up to Mach 1.25 at high altitudes.
